WHERE DO WE GO WHEN WE DIE
Life is an endless circle of hopes, wants, and desires, and our quest to ‘become’ often take us through hell and high water. As humans, we seldom stop wanting; 'The insatiable thirst of men'.
Everybody wants to rule the world, but guess what? That's never gonna happen because then we'll have millions of presidents ruling a country simultaneously, and that'll be absolutely chaotic. To make matters worse life ends in death.
A man's quest to 'become' ends when he dies and death is the full stop in the chapters on the pages of a man's life; 'The inevitable end'.
Vast majority of people who have died reported seeing the famous 'light at the end of the tunnel'.
It's the most common occurrence that people have when they are technically dead, but somehow came back to life; 'The near-death experience' as it is called, but that means they were never really dead because there's no such thing as sort of dead; you're either dead or alive and when a person dies that is the end. The breath stops and the spirit rises up to the heavens to be judged by a God above, at least that's what most people believe, but where do we go when we die?
Many religious Civilizations believe in life after death, and that on the judgment day we’ll all be judged based on the things that we did when we were alive. Now, the question is what happens while we await that judgment? Where do we go while we wait and what do we do?
Do we wander in an alternate universe where we drink and party like there's no tomorrow and take the form of whomever we want? Because that'll be so cool, or do we just sit in a place and brood and wallow in regret and self-pity thinking about our life on earth, about our failures and shortcomings, and how our quest to 'become' ended with us not really 'becoming'? Is there a place where spirits get together to sit, talk, and eat while waiting for judgment or are we just going to 'wander till thy kingdom come?’
Many religious and ancient texts tend to explain this topic, but that's the only account that we have, and don't even get me started on Greek mythology. No living person has ever really seen the afterlife and the dead don't exactly chit-chat with the living or they would have probably sent a postcard or updated their IG story like "chilling in Nirvana, Afterlife party on fleek", and we would have probably seen pictures and glimpses of what the hereafter looks like, but it appears the dead does not socialize with the living.
So, whatever you believe the fact remains that the afterlife is still a big mystery and we're not certain what fate awaits us on the other side. So I say live right, laugh more, be kind, believe in whatever you want and stick with it, love endlessly and never give up and when death comes, go with a smile on your face; well that depends on the type of death but in the end, 'all die be die' and whatever the afterlife holds I hope you find peace because nobody really knows where we go when we die.
